The challenge for this drawing is portraying someone with a smile. Smiles in portraits are never easy, but I wanted to capture the warmth and humanity in that expression - just a fleeting moment where I caught the smile. Perhaps she, in turn, brings a quiet smile to me on a grey and drab morning.
