"Through the recommendation of our architect we employed Malgosia to design the lighting scheme for our house renovation and extension. Lighting was an area that previously we hadn't given much thought to, but what a difference a professional design has made to the finished build! Malgosia took a holistic approach to practicalities, ambience and the physical appearance of the design - I particularly love the glass pendants above the dining room table. She was easy to work with, full of ideas but also sympathetic towards what we were trying to achieve. Malgosia also collaborated well with the other professionals involved in our project. Overall, we are very pleased with the results."

We are absolutely delighted with the lighting schemes that Malgosia has designed for our new house, both internally and externally.  The garden room in particular is spectacular, thanks to Malgosia’s design and the Rako system she recommended.    Malgosia took on board the way we wanted to use the various rooms and the ’style’ that we wanted to achieve.   She has opened our eyes to the impact that the right lighting can have and the end result could not be better.”

Mal was great! We were undertaking a house renovation project.  She was very thorough, making sure to understand our style before producing a thorough report with lots of good suggestions, links to suppliers and photographs.

We were really pleased with your advice and, as I think you know, we have ended up with the LED strip lighting above the picture rails in the living room and also 4 gimbal lights in the 4 corners of the “front lounge”.

“Mal came up with some very creative ideas for how to light our new living space after we had some building work done. We didn’t have the necessary height for a central pendant, nor did we want recessed spot lights. However, we knew we wanted to create layers of lighting to suit different moods and occasions but we were unsure how to achieve this. Mal suggested using dimmable LED strips above the picture rails in our Victorian property to accentuate the feature coving, and she suggested gimbal lights in the corners of the ceiling to wash light across the ceiling when we needed more light. We are delighted with the results.

Malgosia thank you for being part of the E-luminate Cambridge, your creativity is an inspiration for all of us. Casting a light at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge was fab!

Congratulations on the Swiss Garden project – absolutely gorgeous! A huge YES to your ‘contrast’ and ‘layering’. Very well done, indeed. All very tight and controlled – as it should be; no mush and messiness around the edges, and I particularly like the juxtaposition between the clean lines of the ‘built forms’ and the natural landscape.

I just wanted to say thank for your recent lighting design input into our house build project. You understood our requirements well, and we were delighted with your ideas to maximise the lighting potential. We really appreciate your knowledge and guidance, right down to the small details that make a big difference.

Lighting designer Malgosia Benham put together a complementary plan to light the 500 year church using a mix of warm and cold tones with the aim of bringing out the different architectural features of the building. It was great to work with Malgosia to light up such a historic and important buiding in Cambridge. We were very pleased with the outcome and hope that this initial scheme could lead to other buildings in this fine city being lit in a permanent manner.

As an active member of the Cambridge Association of Architects, helping to launch their latest edition of the Cambridge Architecture Gazette on Design Quality, it was important that the launch space reflected the editorial of the magazine. Having heard and seen the successful e-luminate studio, which uses low energy lighting to transform external spaces, I asked e-luminate studio to collaborate on transforming the internal space at the Guild Hall. The results speak for themselves, meeting our brief to create a light filled modern event space.
